Access Heart & Brain Coherence in 5 Minutes

You don't have to empty your mind or meditate for an hour. Coherence begins by gently shifting your nervous system from stress toward calm through your attention, breathing, and emotions.

1. Slow Down

Sit comfortably and place one or both hands over your heart.

Close your eyes if it feels comfortable.

Allow your shoulders to relax.

2. Breathe Through the Heart

Imagine your breath flowing in and out through the center of your chest.

Breathe slowly and comfortably.

Aim for approximately:

5 seconds in

5–6 seconds out

Don't force your breathing. Let it become smooth and rhythmic.

Continue for 2–3 minutes.

3. Generate a Positive Emotion

Now bring to mind someone or something you genuinely appreciate.

It could be:

• Someone you love

• A favorite memory

• Your child

• A beautiful place

• Gratitude for simply being alive

Instead of just thinking about it...

Feel it.

Allow that feeling to fill your chest.

4. Stay With the Feeling

Continue breathing slowly while maintaining that feeling of appreciation, love, compassion, peace, or gratitude.

If your mind wanders...

Simply return to your breathing and your heart.

No judgment.

Just begin again.

5. Carry It Into Your Day

Before opening your eyes, ask yourself:

How would I think, speak, and act today if I stayed connected to this feeling?

Take one slow breath.

Smile.

Then continue your day.

What You May Notice

Everyone's experience is different, but with regular practice many people report:

  • Feeling calmer and more present
  • A quieter, less reactive mind
  • Easier emotional regulation
  • Reduced feelings of stress
  • Greater mental clarity and focus
  • A stronger sense of gratitude or compassion

The goal isn't perfection—it's practice. Like any skill, coherence becomes more natural with consistency.

Daily Challenge

5 minutes. Every morning. For 30 days.

Don't judge each session.

Just show up.

Just like how the first time your rode a bike or shot a basketball, you weren't very good at it, its the same with coherence, the number one most important thing to remember is that you must practice every single day. Your nervous system learns through repetition, and small, consistent practice builds lasting habits over time.
